Frontier Star is a good pattern to start with if you are new to cutting 45-degree angles and sewing diamonds together. The quilt comes together quickly because of the large diamonds. It is a good gateway quilt into a more complicated star quilt pattern.

Lindlee Smith’s first job in the fabric department of her local Ben Franklin store turned out to be foreshadowing to her current passion of writing quilt patterns and filling her home with quilts. Lindlee has a degree in finance and has worked in various accounting roles since college. As a creative outlet from all-day computer work, Lindlee turned to embroidery, sewing, and quilting. Quilting became her primary creative passion, increasingly so after the birth of her daughter in 2019. Lindlee is drawn to designing quilts that are a variation of the lone star quilt. Lindlee lives in Bozeman, Montana, with her husband, daughter, and dog. Her favorite time to sew is in the early morning when the house is quiet while enjoying her first cup of coffee. When she’s not in her sewing room, you can usually find her curled up on the couch under a quilt, working in her backyard garden, or on a hike.
