Silver City Quilt Guild (SCQG) Mission Statement

Our Mission statement is simple:  To promote and carry on the tradition of love and sharing that has always been a part of quilt making.
The Silver City Quilt Guild owes its success and the resulting advantages and privileges of membership to the diligent work of countless members. We are a volunteer quilting guild. Everyone is needed to help preserve and maintain this guild from which we derive so much.  Volunteering is the way to make your specific contribution to SCQG. It is also the best way to meet other members and to form lasting relationships. There are many positions to be filled each year, all of which require the assistance of each and every member. Even a small contribution of your time is helpful. SCQG needs you!
We are pleased to announce that effective March 4, 2014 our application for tax exempt status has been approved by the IRS pursuant to section 501(C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We have been further classified as a public charity. Because of our tax-exempt status we are qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts.

January 18, 2016 meeting

We had a lively meeting in January.  What a great beginning for the new year!

We had a guest speaker, Andy, the owner of Ann’s Fabrics, located in Stoughton, MA. Andy told us a lot about threads, machine maintenance and “nice to know” topics.  Cheryl also from Ann’s Fabrics, gave the members an insight on fabrics and fabric quality.
